STARplex Theatre – Renamed
The STARplex Theatre was officially renamed ‘Hewitson Theatre – STARplex’ as part of the Trinity College Open Day annual celebrations on Sunday 22nd March 2009. This new title is in recognition of Mr Michael Hewitson (original Headmaster of Trinity College), who was one of the visionaries behind the creation of STARplex.
STARplex Theatre joins OOTS
STARplex Theatre has joined OOTS as an associate member in 2008, sharing ideas and expanding the performing arts circuit to more South Australians.
OOTS is 'Out of the Square' - suburban arts centres planning, packaging, programming and presenting the best possible arts and entertainment to audiences outside of Adelaide's CBD.
With the assistance of the Government of SA via Arts SA, several Local Councils and Private Arts Practioners now develop and deliver quality arts and entertainment to a network of seven metropolitan Adelaide arts centres.
Our partnership with OOTS is very exciting for STARplex as we are now able to offer the local Gawler, Barossa and Craigmore areas more performing art shows, cabaret evenings and musicals. Generally the shows offered are targeted towards the over 50's market, which traditionally haven't been a strong target audience in the Theatre. This should therefore bring new customers to the Theatre, and in turn through STARplex.

STARplex Theatre goes AX
STARplex announces the arrival of the new state-of-the-art EAW and Powersoft sound system. The system has been custom-designed using EASE modelling for coverage, and precision, with future upgrades and control options in mind.
