Hip Hop

Miss Nicole is the STARplex Hip Hop Instructor. She started her dancing in 2000, beginning as a student teacher in 2008 and an assistant teacher in 2009 at a local dance studio. Nicole has completed and passed her exams with Ballet Australia Limited (BAL) in Hip Hop and also Tap, Jazz, Ballet and Irish, and is currently studying her Certificate III in Dance Teaching - also with BAL. Nicole will provide a fun, caring and friendly environment for dancers of all ages and looks forward to inspiring her students with the joy of dancing and the confidence to follow their dreams!

Hip Hop is a fun, fast, high energy form of Dance. Lessons are planned using the Ballet Australasia Hip Hop Syllabus - created in 2007, Sydney.

Term 1 lessons will commence on Monday 6th February, 2012.

Each weekly class consists of a warm-up, technique session, and then the dance routine(s).

Throughout the lessons students will learn new techniques & sequences, and put these together to create a fun, fast paced routine. This routine is developed with input from the students, who can help choose the music & moves.

An end of term performance is held in week 8, with parents, family & friends of the students encouraged to come along. This is usually held on-stage in the Hewitson Theatre at STARplex (bookings permitting).

Our mid-year STARplex Dancing Showcases (held in July 2011) provided a fantastic opportunity to showcase all the dancing programs on offer at STARplex (Hewitson Theatre, Fitness Centre and also MTM programs). It gave our little (and not so little) dancers a chance to peform in front of a reasonable size audience and our instructors a chance to cross-promote their classes.
