Dance Programs

Now is the time to learn something new and discover the great world of dance. Boogie; Dance; Skip; Krump; Break-dance; Rumba; Waltz. Be confident on the dance floor and have some fun whilst getting in the groove...you too can 'Dance Like a STAR'!

The Hewitson Theatre is proud to bring you a variety of Dancing Programs that cater for every age group. These weekly dance classes include Dance & Drama, ZumbAtomic, Hip Hop and Ballroom Dancing.

We now offer 5 Dance & Drama classes for children aged 1-12years, introducing them to the world of dance and drama through interaction, creativeness and various dance styles. Our Dance & Drama programs include:

Baby Boogie (1-3yrs, with a parent)

Dancing Child (3-4yrs, with a parent)

Creative Moves (5-12yrs)

Hip Hop discovers one of the latest dance forms, a popular style with all the lastest pop stars & their video clips. Our classes are:

Junior Hip Hop (8-14yrs)

ZumbAtomic

Lil Starz (4-7yrs)

Big Starz (8-12yrs)

The new Dance Fitness craze to hit Australian shores! This modified version of Zumba Fitness has great music and offers opportunities for kids...our newest dance class addition!

Ballroom Dancing lessons teach couples (& individuals) the basic steps to both Ballroom & Latin styles of dancing, and the confidence to get on the dance floor and utilise these steps to all music. Our Ballroom program covers:

Beginners

Intermediate

Each dance class is run over 4 'terms' every year. Our Dance & Drama plus Hip Hop programs run for 8 week terms - starting during the 2nd week of each school term - whereas our Ballroom classes run for 10 weeks - starting the first Tuesday of each school term.

Those interested in joining a class are more than welcome to trial the 1st class for FREE, before committing for the term (term payments only). Our mid-year STARplex Dancing Showcases (held in July 2011) provided a fantastic opportunity to showcase all the dancing programs on offer at STARplex (Hewitson Theatre, Fitness Centre and also MTM programs). It gave our little (and not so little) dancers a chance to peform in front of a reasonable size audience and our instructors a chance to cross-promote their classes.
