Miss Debbie is the STARplex Dance & Drama Instructor...taking the Baby Boogie, Dancing Child & Creative Moves classes!
Debbie was formally trained at the Johnny Young Talent School in Adelaide. She danced with the Sydney Ballet Company, choreographed & danced with the Australian Dance Theatre & performed in many shows.
BABY BOOGIE
Come and dance to the Fairies, wiggle with the Wiggles and rock & roll with your child in this fun and creative class.
Learn some basic dance steps like pointing your toes, moving your hips, gallops, skips and flying your arms around the room as you learn to move to the music. We use props such as the magic dancing rainbow ribbons, pom poms, magic wands, umbrellas and learn to jump the ‘red lava’.
Watch your child’s imagination and confidence grow as they learn to express themselves to music. All costumes provided for dress-ups & stage performance for every child.
Term 1 lessons will commence on Tuesday 7th February, 2012.
DANCING CHILD
Learn some basic first dance steps in this fun, imaginative class. Classical Ballet, Jazz Ballet, Hip Hop and Drama are creatively taught with the use of props to develop movement to music.
An excellent first dance class for 3-4 year olds to develop confidence & expression with mum or dad watching or joining in...it’s up to you and your child.
Come and have lots of fun and laughs as we play dress-ups & learn some dance routines to perform on stage. All costumes and props provided.
Term 1 lessons will commence on Wednesday 8th & Thursday 9th February, 2012.
CREATIVE MOVES
This program covers areas such as rhythm, improvisation, various dance styles to the latest music and creative drama.
With the use of different props, children learn to become more confident in expressing themselves to music and performing on stage. Learn some basic dance steps like Gallop, Sideways Gallop, Skip, Step Ball Change, Cross Ball Change and Turns, as you learn to move to the music.
Term 1 lessons will commence on Wednesday 8th February, 2012.
An end of term performance for each program is held in week 8, with parents, family & friends of the students encouraged to come along. This is usually held on-stage in the Hewitson Theatre at STARplex (bookings permitting).
Our mid-year STARplex Dancing Showcases (held in July 2011) provided a fantastic opportunity to showcase all the dancing programs on offer at STARplex (Hewitson Theatre, Fitness Centre and also MTM programs). It gave our little (and not so little) dancers a chance to peform in front of a reasonable size audience and our instructors a chance to cross-promote their classes.
