Ballroom

I would like to introduce Tim Newman, the new Ballroom Dancing Instructor at STARplex. Tim is a trainee instructor and has been in the dancing industry since 2000. He has been assisting class instruction at Bob and Halina’s Dance for the last 5 years, and dances 4 to 6 nights every week. Tim has competed in many Ballroom Dancing Competitions - last year he competed at the Crown International Dance Championships in Melbourne placing 4th & 5th in 2 categories. Tim has learnt his craft from his parents Bob and Halina, who have been dancing for more than 15 years and running classes and social dances since 2000.

Tim will teach Modern Ballroom, New Vogue & Latin - which includes dances such as Samba, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha, Mambo, Waltz & Salsa.

Our classes will continue to suit beginners through to intermediate dancers, both singles and couples, young and more mature. There is no pressure, only encouragement. Dancing is about having fun, providing an opportunity to meet new friends, improve fitness and express movement in a fun and challenging way!

Ballroom Dancing lessons will take a short break during Term 3, so lessons will recommence on Tuesday 12th October for Term 4, with a FREE come ‘n’ try class.

Each 10-week term includes an end-of-term, fun, cabaret evening where couples & individuals are encouraged to test their skills on the dance floor and enjoy some BYO supper & drinks.
