Helping ‘Mothers to be’ with an exercise regime focusing on their wellbeing during pregnancy, including diet.

Why We Offer This Program?

STARplex is offering a place to gather, socialise and be guided into a trimester of strength, mobility and knowledge during your pregnancy journey. Together with instructors who have expertise, are qualified in pregnancy care and the endorsement of professional services, we have designed a program that includes floor and pool exercises to support your pregnancy.

We know that the birthing process is hard work. Strong bodies make strong minds that are better equipped to deal with the demands of motherhood.

Exercise strengthens the heart and lungs, tones the muscles and prepares the body for giving birth, it is like running a marathon; it requires stamina, determination and focus.

We will provide you the tools to use at home on a daily basis.

Who Can Enrol?

Expectant mums through to new Mums from 6 weeks post-natal.

What You Will Do?

Studio based activities = Conditioning program.

A focus on the pelvic floor muscles in preparation for strength exercises as these are weakened during pregnancy and during birth so it is extremely important to begin conditioning the pelvic floor muscles from the start of your pregnancy. Improve your strength, posture and conditioning. Develop stretching and cool down techniques, including meditation and relaxation.

Water based activities.

These complement the land based elements in the Fitness Centre and will include plyometric/cardio based aquatic strength and conditioning exercises. Meditation and relaxation will involve participants floating on their backs. The Aqua component is effective, safe and gentle, with the water temperature being 30 degrees.

  • Help you sleep better
  • Lower your risk of gestational diabetes and depression

You may even end up having a shorter, less complicated labour. Developing good workout habits during pregnancy will help you get your body back faster after delivery.

Each week our Instructors will revisit your progress and discuss your individual needs during your journey as they realise each pregnancy is different and you are to go at your own comfortable pace during this exciting journey. We will have Nutritional information and healthy tips from our residential Dietitian and other helpful information from our varied networks to support your wellbeing.

We use a private studio for floor based activities and offer secluded heated pool sessions.

Based on a rotation program with 30 minutes floor based session & 30 minutes pool session, with time following for coffee and chat in our Café.

The Prenatal Program is an ongoing program throughout the year (we do not break for school holidays).
