James’ Giant Step

STARplex Swimming Club’s James McKechnie took an important step in his career this week by representing Australia at the FINA World Cup Short Course competition in Hong Kong.

The meet is the 19-year-olds first at international level and also his first time representing Australia. The 2014 World Cup consists of several separate meets, beginning in August and concluding in November, across a variety of Asian, Middle Eastern and European cities. With McKechnie aiming to compete at the 2016 Rio Olympics, he and his coach Stephen Garner, decided it was time to add some international experience to James’ resume. Read the full story here.
